Markus Keller leads our Digital Infrastructure Practice across EMEA and Data Center Segment globally being focused on investors and Operators of Infrastructures and Platforms. He is an active member of Egon Zehnder’s CEO, and Private Equity practices. He advises publicly traded, private equity-backed, and founder/family-owned companies, supporting them through critical phases such as succession, transitions, growth, restructuring and pre-IPO/pre-deal.
Having grown up in a family business and spent a decade working for large companies, I’m in my element helping executives hone their leadership skills, ramp up their teams’ performance, and achieve effective governance.
Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Markus Keller was a Senior Advisor to McKinsey & Co and a Senior Executive at Deutsche Telekom. He served as the company’s Vice President Investor Relations, Sales Director Mobile Wholesale and Senior Vice President for Digital Innovation. Earlier, he was a member of staff of the Group CEO/CFO and to Chief Economist of Deutsche Bank.
Markus is also an entrepreneur and investor in his own right, having founded, developed, and exited his own software company. He has served as a jury member, venture coach and equity investor, been picked by Capital Magazin for its “top 40 under 40” list.
He studied Economics, Business Administration and Political Science in Germany, Poland, the US, China, and Brazil.

Vor Egon Zehnder war Markus Keller Senior Advisor bei McKinsey und leitete als Senior Vice President bei der Deutschen Telekom den Geschäftsbereich IoT/Smart City weltweit. Zuvor war er Vertriebsleiter im deutschen Wholesale-Geschäft und für das konzernweite digitale Innovationsprogramm verantwortlich. Davor war er als Assistent des Group CFO der Deutschen Telekom und als Assistent des Chefvolkswirts der Deutschen Bank tätig.
Als Start-up-Unternehmer hat Markus Keller eine Softwarefirma gegründet, entwickelt und verkauft. Das Wirtschaftsmagazin „Capital“ wählte ihn in sein „Top 40 unter 40“-Ranking. Nach einem Studium der Betriebswirtschaftslehre und Politikwissenschaft absolvierte er Executive-Programme an der INSEAD, dem MIT, der Stanford University, der IE Business School und der Oxford University.
