Katie Pyfer is a consultant in Egon Zehnder’s Industrial Practice, based in Miami. She specializes in the chemical and process industries, advising clients on executive search, CEO and board succession, and leadership assessment. Katie brings deep expertise in specialty chemicals, lithium, and advanced materials, translating technical insight into strategic and commercial decisions. She partners with leaders on portfolio strategy and customer value, applying analytical rigor and clarity to complex, high-stakes challenges.

Before joining Egon Zehnder, Katie spent more than a decade at Albemarle, where she held senior roles in research and development, commercial and product management, marketing, and strategy, building a strong foundation in chemistry and innovation. She began her career in analytical chemistry and research.
Katie earned a PhD in Analytical Chemistry and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Indiana University. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new places and experiences with her family and experimenting in the kitchen. She also serves on the External Advisory Board for Indiana University’s Chemistry Department and has been actively involved in councils focused on mentorship, inclusion, and community engagement.
