People are the jigsaw puzzle of life, and I am very passionate about putting some of them in the right places through the people and leaders I meet and interact with.

Before becoming a consultant with Egon Zehnder, Sushmitha was the Head of Human Resources International at Axel Springer in Germany, where she shaped and led a new international HR function. Before that, she focused on attracting top talent to the group as that company’s Human Resources Manager for University Marketing. Sushmitha began her career as a Research Associate at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin), working on studies on the telecommunications market, networks, and e-business in Europe.

Sushmitha earned a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Madras and then completed a Master of Science in economics and management sciences and a PhD in industrial economics from the Humboldt University of Berlin.

Sushmitha Swaminathan hat sich auf die Bereiche Digitales, Personalwesen und Medien spezialisiert. Sie engagiert sich in den Praxisgruppen Technology und Communications und Human Relations (HR). Vor ihrem Wechsel zu Egon Zehnder war Sushmitha Swaminathan Head of Human Resources International bei Axel Springer Germany, wo sie eine internationale HR-Funktion ins Leben rief und mit Impulsen aus dem Silicon Valley wesentlich zum Aufbau der digitalen Transformation des Unternehmens beitrug. Davor war sie als HR Manager University Marketing an der Gewinnung von jungen Talenten für die Axel Springer-Gruppe beteiligt. Sushmitha Swaminathan begann ihre Karriere als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Deutschen Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (DIW) in Berlin, wo sie Studien über Telekommunikationsmärkte, Netzwerke und europaweites e-Business durchführte.

Sushmitha Swaminathan studierte an der Universität Madras und erwarb dort ihren Bachelor of Science in Economics. Anschließend wechselte sie an die Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, wo sie einen Master of Science in Economics and Management Science erwarb und mit einer volkswirtschaftlichen Dissertation zum Dr. rer. pol. promovierte.
