Jochen Günnewig is the Leader of Egon Zehnder’s office in Düsseldorf, Germany, and he’s active in the firm’s Industrial, Services, Financial Officers, Supply Chain, and Board Consulting practices, in addition to the Family Business Advisory. He works closely with large multinationals as well as with small and midsized family-owned companies across the industrial sector, with particular specialization in machinery and engineering, technical services, construction, steel, and automotive. Jochen also provides executive and nonexecutive director searches as well as board effectiveness consulting.

Before joining Egon Zehnder, Jochen was an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company in Cologne, Germany, supporting clients in the automotive, engineering, and chemical industries with performance transformation, product development, purchasing, and distribution. He began his career as a Research Associate at the Institute for Automatic Control Systems of RWTH Aachen University.
Jochen earned an MSc (with honors) from RWTH Aachen and Michigan State University, a PhD in engineering from the Institute for Automatic Control at RWTH Aachen, and a degree in industrial engineering from Fernuniversität Hagen. In his free time, he is passionate about good food and wine, relaxing on Majorca, sailing around the Mediterranean, skiing, and running.
