Catherine Zhu, based in Hong Kong, coleads Egon Zehnder’s Greater China Practice and is the Managing Partner in Hong Kong. She is a trusted advisor to multinationals, entrepreneurs, and Asian families on meeting their most pressing board and CEO search, leadership succession, and cultural transformation needs. Passionate about innovation, Catherine advises Chinese companies on their global talent strategies and helps their leaders to stay fresh. She also works closely with family business owners in Asia to improve their ability to attract, develop, and retain senior talent.

In this age of uncertainty, I’m fascinated by how transformational leaders can create context and consistently energize others.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Catherine was a Managing Director at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in the Asia-Pacific region. Earlier in her career she held leadership roles with Motorola, Nortel, and Yum! Brands.

Catherine earned an MBA from the University of Toronto and a BA from Zhejiang University in China. She publishes a leadership column in the South China Morning Post and is a founding member of the 30% Club in Hong Kong, which strives to improve gender balance at the executive and board levels. As a board member of Save the Children Hong Kong, Catherine also does volunteer work in remote parts of China. She enjoys hiking with her family in her free time.
