Carlos Vázquez, based in Mexico City, leads Egon Zehnder’s Financial Tech, Private Equity, Financial Services, and Energy & CleanTech practices in Mexico. He has particular expertise in corporate and investment banking, consumer financial services, digital banking and insurance, and leads search assignments for and assessments of C-suite executives and boards across Latin America.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Carlos was Vice President of Investment Banking for Latin America at Goldman Sachs & Co., based in New York and Mexico City. Before that he was an international economics researcher for BBVA Bancomer. Carlos is also an entrepreneur in his own right, having cofounded a disruptive HR tech startup that leverages human experience with artificial intelligence and cognitive algorithms. He began his career as a strategy and operations consultant for Deloitte Consulting.
Carlos earned an MBA from the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania and a BA in economics from ITESM in Monterrey, Mexico. He is the father of two daughters and passionate about creating a better world for them. He is especially interested in future interactions between humans and artificial intelligence.
