Hideaki Tsukuda is Egon Zehnder’s Partner in Tokyo. He is a trusted advisor to Boards and CEOs of leading Japanese companies and is closely connected to top executives in major Japanese companies. He is the leader of Board Advisory and CEO practice group, and is active in Board Consulting, CEO Succession, Executive Assessment and Development, and Non-executive director search in wide range of industries. He is a member of “The Council of Experts Concerning the Follow-up of Japan’s Stewardship Code and Japan’s Corporate Governance Code”, jointly established by Financial Services Agency (FSA) and Tokyo Stock Exchange. He also served as a member of “The Council of Experts on the Stewardship Code“ at FSA in 2017. He regularly gives conference speeches / contributes articles as an expert on “Board Effectiveness” and “CEO Succession” and is a frequent contributor to major Japanese media.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Hideaki was a Consultant at McLagan Partners Asia, Inc., in Tokyo, where he advised financial institutions on human resources. Previously, he was a Senior Manager of Human Resources as well as Manager of the International Division at the Sanwa Bank, Ltd. The company sponsored Hideaki’s education in the U.S.
Hideaki has a BA in law from Tokyo University and an MSc in management from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. Outside of work, he plays the viola in amateur orchestras and loves operas and classical music. He also enjoys spending time in nature with his family.
