James Stark, based in Atlanta, is a leader in Egon Zehnder’s CFO and Audit Chair, Industrial and Private Capital practices. He brings deep expertise in the evolving role of the CFO and its implications for leadership development and succession. James works with organizations to strengthen finance leadership capabilities and has been recognized for his insights on the future of the CFO role.
The best part of this work is partnering with boards, CEOs, and CFOs during moments that matter—helping them think clearly, make difficult decisions, and build enduring organizations.
Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, James was a Managing Director at World 50 in Atlanta, leading a private community of CFOs from Fortune 500 companies. In that role, he built relationships with executives to learn and collaborate through peer-to-peer exchange, moderated conversations with world-class leaders, and best practice sharing. Before that, James served as Director for Global Strategy and Corporate Development at IHG. Earlier in his career, he spent eight years at the Boston Consulting Group as a global expert on innovation and organic growth.
James earned a BA in economics from the University of Virginia and an MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill. Outside of work, he enjoys economics, literature, music, and hiking in the north Georgia mountains with his wife, daughter, and two dogs.
