Egon Zehnder's Lisbon office, established in 1989, is small in terms of headcount but large in ambition. Our one consultant and four professional and support staff devote about a third of their time to projects in Portuguese-speaking nations such as Mozambique and Angola. The rest of their time is spent serving other local Portuguese clients, including family-owned firms, private equity investors, the public sector, and most of the companies listed on the Lisbon Stock Exchange Index, including 18 of the 20 largest.

We also work with other offices to tap our global expertise whenever needed. One key assignment required the assessment of 600 managers of a major electric company with locations in Portugal, Spain, and Brazil. When the company was eventually restructured, the changes made were based on our work.
