Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Ruben served as Chief of Staff to the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister, pushing socio-economic policies at the highest level of government. During that time, Ruben was equally a member of the Board of Infrabel, the Belgian Railway Infrastructure Manager. Before that, he worked as an economist at the National Bank of Belgium. Initially, Ruben started his career as a Policy Advisor in labor market and industrial policy in different ministerial cabinets, including that of the country’s Prime Minister.
Ruben earned an MA in Economics and an MA in Political Science from the University of Leuven. Outside of work, Ruben enjoys life with his partner, Rebecca, and their three daughters and is passionate about long distance running, cycling and hiking in the mountains.
