Heloise Nel is the Managing Partner of Egon Zehnder’s Sub-Saharan Africa Office and leads Egon Zehnder’s Mining & Metals practice globally. She is a trusted advisor to Boards and CEOs of some of the largest mining and metals companies around the world. Heloise is active in the firm’s Board Consulting Practice and has worked on many global searches for chairmen and non-executive directors in numerous industries. She also advises industrial clients in on strategic opportunities and challenges.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Heloise was a Senior Manager in Accenture’s Resources practice and took part in projects across the U.S., U.K., and Southern Africa. During her time at Accenture, she primarily served mining and energy clients, with a focus on country and corporate strategy as well as large-scale organization transformation. Heloise began her career as a metallurgist at De Beers, managing offshore diamond production. She also worked as a project engineer designing marine diamond processing plants. Heloise served as a Director of the South African National Energy Association, the national chapter of the World Energy Council, from 2013 to 2017.
Heloise has a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch and an MBA from Stellenbosch Business School. In her spare time, she enjoys horseriding, travelling, and reading.
