Connect With Me

Heloise Nel leads Egon Zehnder’s Mining & Metals practice globally and in this capacity in particular is tightly connected with mining clients around the globe. Based in Johannesburg, she connects world-class talent in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa to clients in mining, energy, and other capital-intensive industries. Heloise also advises clients in consulting and private equity on how to tackle strategic opportunities and challenges.

Africa has a young, vibrant workforce with immense potential. As part of Egon Zehnder Johannesburg, it is my passion to develop this deep pool of talent and connect these leaders to the world.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Heloise was a Senior Manager in Accenture’s Resources practice and took part in projects across the U.S., U.K., and Southern Africa. During her time at Accenture, she primarily served mining and energy clients, with a focus on country and corporate strategy as well as large-scale organization transformation. Heloise began her career as a metallurgist at De Beers, managing offshore diamond production. She also worked as a project engineer designing marine diamond processing plants. Heloise served as a Director of the South African National Energy Association, the national chapter of the World Energy Council, from 2013 to 2017.

Heloise has a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch and an MBA from Stellenbosch Business School. In her spare time, she enjoys skiing, scuba diving, traveling, and reading.
