John Grumbar was Egon Zehnder’s Chairman and CEO before retiring from the partnership in 2010. Based in London, he is currently Senior Advisor to the board and advises clients on leadership and governance. He is a member of the Ashoka Support Network for Social Entrepreneurs, which works to find solutions to enduring social problems. He sits on various advisory boards, both private and not for profit.
As Senior Advisor to the firm, I support Egon Zehnder’s quest to be the leader in its profession, and I try to enhance its culture of sharing and always putting clients first. Externally, I help social entrepreneurs and leaders scale their activities.
John spent the first 10 years of his career in the securities industry and as a member of the London Stock Exchange. He joined Egon Zehnder in 1982.
John earned a BA in philosophy and economics from the London School of Economics and an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
