Heiko Wolters leads Egon Zehnder’s office in Stuttgart. He mainly serves clients in the industrial sector with a particular focus on automotive and machinery. Heiko’s deep management experience makes him a trusted advisor to companies of all sizes, including family-run businesses and private equity firms. He is active across the firm’s CEO, Executive Assessment and Development, and Industrial practices and in the Family Business Advisory.
This quote from Vince Lombardi sums up my philosophy: ’Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.'
Before becoming an Egon Zehnder consultant, Heiko held the roles of Chief Representative and Director of Sales and Branches at Dekra Automobil AG, Europe’s leading automotive testing-and-safety company. Before that, he was a manager at Arthur D. Little, helping automotive clients improve their strategy and efficiency. Heiko began his career at BMW AG as a purchasing analyst.
Heiko did an apprenticeship in banking before completing an MBA (Dipl. Kaufmann) at the Free University of Berlin and the École Supérieure de Gestion (ESG) in Paris. He then earned a PhD at the University of Berlin and MIT, where he was a visiting scholar in the International Motor Vehicle Program. Heiko has published a book on the future of the automotive industry and been invited to speak at several conferences. He is passionately devoted to his wife and three children and enjoys cycling so much that he tours across the Alps each year with friends.
