People give me energy. I believe that we are all sources of learning, inspiration and opportunity for each other. Working to unlock these connections between people and within organizations is what drives my everyday work.
Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Carmen was in management consulting and operational roles. Most recently, she was in the Growth, Marketing & Sales Practice at McKinsey & Co., where her client work focused on multi-lever growth transformations as well as digital marketing and marketing organizations primarily in the retail and apparel sectors. Before McKinsey, she held a number of leadership positions in digital marketing, including leading e-commerce for the design furniture company Vitra and as CMO for an e-commerce start-up in Berlin.
Carmen holds a PhD in International Relations from the London School of Economics. She is originally from Peru, where she spent the first years of her life before her family immigrated to Canada. After completing her Honours BA in Political Science at McMaster University, Carmen moved to Vienna for her Masters and went on to live in London, Berlin and Frankfurt before coming back to Toronto. She now lives in the city with her husband and two young children, enjoying the renewed proximity to her parents and twin.
