Financial Times – Bankers Switch to C-Suite

A growing number of investment bankers are moving from Wall Street to the C-Suite, reports Financial News. This trend is being driven by banking’s reduced remuneration and poor reputation, as well as by companies doing more transaction work in-house and offering greater entrepreneurial opportunities. “As companies look at being more strategic and look at pursuing inorganic growth, bringing that talent in-house to be dedicated to that company’s missions and goals is quite useful,” explains Albert Laverge, head of Egon Zehnder’s global wholesale banking team and a former investment banker at SG Warburg in New York. “The investment banks are the great source of talent,” he adds.
