Based in Munich, Elke Hofmann counsels large and midsize corporations in industrial goods, oil and gas, energy, and cleantech. She is a trusted advisor on general management, transformation and change, and business development. Elke is particularly passionate about helping clients align their organizational structures and capabilities with evolving environments. She is an active member of Egon Zehnder’s Energy & CleanTech and Industrial practices.

Elke gained wide-ranging management experience before becoming an Egon Zehnder consultant, spending 13 years at BP Plc in London in a variety of business roles that included transforming that company’s downstream business in Europe and serving as the Program Director for Refining & Marketing in Europe and for Lubricants SPU in Europe and Africa and as a Commercial Director for Asia, Brazil, and Europe at Butamax Advanced Biofuels LLC. Prior to that she was a Senior Consultant for marketing and sales at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in Munich. She started her career at Deutsche Bank, where she worked in retail and commercial banking.
Elke earned a master’s degree and a PhD in applied economics from the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, Germany (with a semester abroad at the University of New South Wales in Australia), before completing the Sales & Marketing Leadership Program of the Kellogg Business School and completing the Program for Leadership Development of Harvard Business School. Outside of work, she is passionate about raising her young daughter, experiencing nature and wildlife, hiking, ski trekking, and exploring other cultures.
