Based in Munich, Elke Hofmann is Egon Zehnder’s Managing Partner for Germany. As a member of the CEO & Board Advisory in Germany and the global Industrial Practice, she counsels large and midsize corporations in chemical and process industries, renewables as well plant engineering and is a trusted advisor for general management, transformation and change. In addition to executive search, she provides advice on leadership development, team and board effectiveness and CEO succession.

Elke gained wide-ranging management experience before becoming an Egon Zehnder consultant, spending 13 years at BP Plc in London in a variety of general management roles that included serving as a Commercial Director for Asia, Brazil, and Europe at Butamax Advanced Biofuels LLC and as Business Manager, Europe, for BP Biofuels, as well as restructuring and transforming BP’s downstream business in Europe. Prior to that she was a Senior Consultant with Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in Munich. She started her career at Deutsche Bank, where she worked in retail and commercial banking.
Elke earned a master’s degree and a PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, Germany (with a semester abroad at the University of New South Wales in Australia), before completing the Sales & Marketing Leadership Program at the Kellogg Business School and the Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School.

Zu Egon Zehnder brachte Elke Hofmann weitreichende Managementerfahrung in unterschiedlichen Funktionen und Industrien mit. Während ihrer 13 Jahre bei BP Plc in London war sie General Manager für Asien, Brasilien und Europa bei Butamax Advanced Biofuels LLC, Business Manager Europa bei BP Biofuels sowie verantwortlich für die Transformation des Downstream-Geschäfts in Europa. Ihre Karriere begann sie im Privat- und Geschäftskundengeschäft der Deutschen Bank, bevor sie als Senior Consultant zu Roland Berger Strategy Consultants wechselte.
Elke Hofmann erwarb ihren Masterabschluss sowie ihren Doktortitel im Fach Wirtschaftswissenschaften an der Universität Hohenheim in Stuttgart. Ihr Studium umfasste auch ein Auslandssemester an der University of New South Wales (Australien). Im Anschluss absolvierte Elke Hofmann das Sales & Marketing Leadership Program an der Kellogg Business School sowie das Program for Leadership Development an der Harvard Business School.
