Lena Kilee is the Managing Partner of Egon Zehnder’s Sub-Saharan Africa practice. She brings deep expertise in board and CEO succession, as well as broader leadership advisory services. She is a core member of Egon Zehnder’s global Health and Technology practices. As a trusted advisor to clients around the world, she also specializes in leadership assessment and development. Lena values diversity and lateral thinking when leading searches for CEOs, executive board members, and board chairs. Major public companies, start-ups and scale-ups, family-owned businesses, not-for-profits, and public sector organizations rely on her insight and advice.
Lena has worked across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the U.S. Before joining Egon Zehnder, she was Director of Advisory Services and Business Development at Horizon Client Access in New York, where she advised multinational clients on political risk management. She played a part in numerous strategic and growth processes at globally active corporations. Previously, she served in the German federal government, including as Deputy Chief of Mentors for the European Union Police Mission in Afghanistan. She began her career at the Association of German Foundations.
Lena earned a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University and is a fully qualified lawyer and an ICF certified coach.
