Andreas Zehnder, based in Zurich, has led Egon Zehnder’s Financial Services, Consumer Products, and Media practices in Switzerland for some years. Today he is a trusted advisor for senior-level executive, board, and diversity searches across multiple industries, with a particular emphasis on asset management, private equity, M&A, family businesses, and private banking. Andreas also drives the activities of the firm’s Family Business Advisory Practice in Switzerland, focusing on family succession planning and family business governance.
I’m deeply excited by working with colleagues around the world who live the EZ credo of serving clients’ best interests by sharing their insights and ideas with the consultant in charge of an assignment, ‘no matter who gets the credit.’
Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Andreas held the role of Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company in Zurich and Paris, advising clients on strategy, growth initiatives, and operations. He began his professional career at Young & Rubicam Switzerland in advertising, counseling clients on marketing and communication strategies. While studying for his PhD, Andreas worked in legal affairs and investment management at Citibank.
Andreas studied ancient Greek and Latin at school, earned a master’s in law and a PhD in contractual law from the University of Zurich, and completed a two-year MBA program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He is passionate about spending time with his wife and three children, and enjoys playing the piano, keeping fit, and watching Roger Federer play tennis.
