José Fernando Calderón, based in Bogotá, is active in Egon Zehnder’s Industrial, Financial, Life Sciences, and Consumer Practices. He supports clients across the Andean Region (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela), Central America, and the Caribbean, offering services ranging from CEO succession and executive and board search to management appraisal and leadership consulting. José works closely with local privately owned and publicly listed companies and multinational corporations. He is also part of Egon Zehnder’s Family Business Advisory, Board Consulting, and CEO practices.

Before joining Egon Zehnder, José was the Managing Director of Socimer, an investment banking boutique. Prior to that he served as a Senior Associate with Booz Allen Hamilton in São Paulo and Bogotá, where he helped financial services and consumer clients with strategy, operations, and organization challenges across South America. José started his career as a an Account Manager in the Financial Institutions Group at Citibank in Bogotá.
José earned degrees in economics and law from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He serves on the board of trustees of Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá and is also active on other other corporate and NGO boards. Outside of work, José enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, cycling, horseback riding, and playing tennis. He is passionate about education and politics.
