I’ve always been a curious person, and what motivates me most is trying to understand the people behind the business. Being able to play a role in improving leadership is what makes it easy for me to wake up every morning.

Before joining the firm in 1996, Michael spent five years at the Federal Trust Agency (Treuhand), the agency set up to privatize East German businesses following reunification. His roles there included Chief of Staff, Group Controlling Manager, and Treuhand’s Special Assistant to the Executive Board. Earlier in his career, he worked as an editor at the news group Münchner Zeitungsverlag.

Michael studied political science and law at the University of Munich and earned a PhD in political science from the University of Konstanz. Passionate about history and politics as well as a collector of books, he is a strong supporter of Berlin’s football team. He lives in Berlin and Hamburg with his wife and children.
