Ian Bolin, based in Atlanta, leads Egon Zehnder’s North American automotive practice advising industrial, automotive and private-equity backed companies globally. With over 15 years of experience in the automotive industry, Ian partners with clients on executive and board search engagements, CEO succession planning, management assessment and leadership development. In addition to his work within the automotive sector, Ian has worked closely with engineering, manufacturing, technology and services clients to address their leadership needs.


Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Ian held automotive leadership roles in both strategy and sales in the US, Germany, South Africa, and China. Most recently he was the Chief Transformation Officer for Infiniti Motor Company, based in Hong Kong, where he led the brand’s global change process, which included establishing a new global headquarters and management structure. Previously, Ian was with the Volkswagen Group, primarily within its luxury Audi brand, where he charted the strategy for Audi in America, held several operational/retail roles, and oversaw a successful turnaround of the Audi business in South Africa. Ian began his career with Rolls-Royce & Bentley Motorcars in the US.

Ian earned a BS in International Business, Marketing, and German at Marquette University and an MBA from Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management.
