The Economic Times – Women in India Inc Enjoy Strong Mid-Level Mentorship

Women at Indian companies have plenty of career ambition and enjoy ample development opportunities, but struggle to overcome gender bias at the leadership level. These are the findings of Egon Zehnder’s “2017 Leaders & Daughters Global Survey” as featured in The Economic Times. “The survey shows a higher correlation in India between seniority and the need to overcome gender bias and stereotypes in the workplace, where one-third of C-suite respondents report difficulty — compared to the overall global rate of 12%,” says Pallavi Kathuria, Co-Lead Diversity & Inclusion at Egon Zehnder. On a brighter note, the survey reveals particularly strong mentorship for women at the middle manager level.
