Paul Liu, based in Shanghai, leads Egon Zehnder’s Services Practice in Greater China and advises clients in the hospitality, travel, and airlines sectors. He has deep expertise in branding, customer experience, digital engagement, and disruption.
I draw on my broad perspective and experience to find conclusions that may not be visible to clients. Being able to share these insights and brainstorm in a provocative and constructive manner is immensely satisfying.
Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Paul was COO of AEG in China. Previously, he was CEO and Founder of Axon Concepts and Executive Director of CIMIC Holdings. Earlier, Paul worked in banking and capital markets at JPMorgan, UBS, and Bank of America while based in New York and Hong Kong. Paul was also Executive Director and CFO for Three on the Bund, a project to revitalize the iconic Shanghai riverfront.
Paul has a BA in political science from University of Michigan and an MA in international affairs and economics from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He founded the Barnett-Oksenberg Lecture on Sino-American Relations, which is held annually in Shanghai. He enjoys reading about politics, economics, and social transformation, and family is the most important part of his life outside of work.
