Zurich, Switzerland––November 19, 2025––Egon Zehnder, the world’s premier leadership advisory and executive search firm, proudly announces a significant milestone in its sustainability strategy: The Firm’s near-term emissions reduction targets have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative. These targets have been developed in line with SBTi methodology, which helps companies set targets consistent with the latest climate science and the objectives of the Paris Agreement.

  • Egon Zehnder commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 71.4% by FY2034 from a FY2023 base year.*
  • Egon Zehnder also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 35.0% within the same timeframe.

*The target boundary includes land-related emissions and removals from bioenergy feedstocks.

The Scope 1 & 2 target reflects the Firm’s commitment to ambitious, forward-looking action. By setting its baseline to FY2023, Egon Zehnder is not only locking in significant emission reductions already achieved by sourcing 100% renewable electricity, but also committing to continued deep decarbonization across its operations. This approach is aligned with the SBTi’s methodology for rewarding early actions while ensuring an ambitious forward looking decarbonization pathway.

“Having these ambitious targets approved by the SBTi reflects our deep commitment to implementing firmwide decarbonization initiatives and allows us to act with greater confidence and urgency to protect the future of our planet,” said Stefanie Kahle, CFO of Egon Zehnder.

The Firm's decarbonization strategy will focus on its most significant emission sources, including office operations, company vehicles, business travel, and the procurement of goods and services.
