Paulo Simoes advises clients across different technology, services, and industrial sectors. Based in Lisbon, he has deep experience recruiting, assessing, and developing senior executives in Portugal and around the world. Paulo is active in Egon Zehnder’s Executive Assessment and Development, Technology & Communications, and Private Capital practices.

Leonardo da Vinci once said, “People of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things.” I am always looking for executives who share this attitude.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Paulo was an Executive Board Member of Cofina.com, which invested in Internet and high-tech ventures. He was also a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company and a Manager in the Lisbon office of A.T. Kearney. Earlier, Paulo was involved in Portuguese and European politics.

Paulo has a five-year degree, as well as a Master’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Instituto Superior Técnico, in Lisbon, and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, in Sydney. Paulo frequently speaks at conferences and leading business schools on career management issues and happiness at work. He also guides the subject of “Personal and Professional Development” in one of the leading MBA schools in Portugal. Outside of work, Paulo has traveled to more than 75 countries and runs a small farm that produces olive oil.
