BERLIN – April 12, 2019 – Hanns Goeldel is Egon Zehnder’s new Country Leader in Germany. The changeover was announced yesterday at a conference held by the market leader for executive search und leadership advisory in Berlin.
Hanns Goeldel, 51, succeeds Michael Ensser, 54, who steps up onto the partnership’s global board after heading the firm’s German operations since 2012. The principle of ‘temporary leadership’ is anchored in the corporate governance code at Egon Zehnder. In line with this, a partner will normally hold a leadership role for a maximum of six years.
Speaking at the official handover in Berlin, Egon Zehnder’s global CEO, Ed Camara, said: “With his great competence and foresight, Hanns Goeldel will take our German activities forward in a country that, under the aegis of Michael Ensser, has been transformed into a powerhouse of innovation, particularly where leadership advisory is concerned.” Stepping down as Country Leader in Germany, Michael Ensser added: “Our new Managing Partner is renowned for his exceptional success in identifying and developing leading figures and for guiding clients through the increasingly important cultural and organizational transformation of their companies. He makes an outstanding choice.”
Stepping into his new role, Hanns Goeldel, who holds a PhD in economics and heads up Egon Zehnder’s Hamburg office, underlined why his objectives include the expansion of the firm’s leadership services offering and the further development of its executive search activities: “In our client relations we see every day that the demands facing leading figures on executive and supervisory boards are becoming increasingly complex.
