Julie Chen Egon Zehnder, New York
Julie Chen has extensive experience working in top management consulting and leadership advisory firms, serving a diverse range of global clients across financial services, technology, media, manufacturing, energy, healthcare, and non-profits. With Egon Zehnder, she is active in the Executive Assessment and Development Practice and advises boards, CEOs, and executive teams in the areas of C-suite succession planning, executive talent management, leadership assessment and development, board effectiveness, and organizational change. Julie is based in the firm’s New York office.
Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Julie served as Director of Consulting Services and Analytics at Nadler Advisory Services, where she consulted to boards of directors, CEOs, and executive teams on issues related to executive leadership, corporate governance, and organization performance. Previous roles include Principal Consultant at Oliver Wyman, where her work covered a range of areas related to board, leadership, and organizational effectiveness, and Senior Associate in Mercer’s Organizational Research and Effectiveness group, where she provided a full spectrum of consulting on projects including employee engagement, benefits and total rewards, and organizational culture. Julie previously worked at Pacific Gas & Electric Company, designing employee surveys, evaluating leadership assessments, defining selection and assessment criteria, analyzing training program data, and creating program evaluations.
Julie earned a BA in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley, then an MA and PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from New York University. She is a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the American Psychological Association. Julie has been published in NACD Directorship: Boardroom Intelligence, People and Strategy, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Human Resource Management Review. She has presented her work at professional meetings, including the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the Academy of Management.
